UFO's in Britain have been an observed and documented phenomenon for centuries. Some may well be atmospheric anomalies, but structured craft have puzzled all that have witnessed them. This documentary has delved into one such puzzle, that of silent flying triangles (FT's). The Staffordshire area and a location known as the Cannock Chase in the heart of England has been a notorious UFO hotspot for many years. The documentary now produced by Staffordshire UFO Group and media company 'Mirage 21' covers a period in time known as the 'Staffordshire Flap' which occurred from early 1988 and into the early 1990's. Throughout this period, UFO's of all descriptions were witnessed in the Staffordshire skies and one in particular shape became quite a familiar site, the 'flying triangle'. Triangular shaped craft have been witnessed for decades in the UK and records from RAF pilots date back to the 1940's, so what's new ? The documentary does not set out to prove that the sightings are of extraterrestrial craft. The remit of the producer is to present the facts based on witness testimony, official documentation and authoritative comment. in a bid to seek the truth, one single event has been highlighted to present a case which if the facts are correct, suggests evidence of a cover-up. This case took place on a warm summers evening on May 16 1988. Evidence suggests that two FT's descended from height to approximately 1000 ft. the event was recorded on radar and immediately caught the attention of the Air Traffic Control - Civil AirWatch Supervisor at Birmingham Airport. On the ground dozens of witnesses including police watched the silent objects move slowly across the sky toward the Cannock Chase. Dozens more witnesses watched the strange craft with varying light patterns, hover silently at times and play tumble at others. Those closest give detailed accounts of structured craft which turned abruptly or disappeared in a blink. The bizarre events scared some of the witnesses who demanded explanation of their Minister for Parliament. He in turn requested answers of the Defence Minister in Parliament. The official response was 'busy air traffic' to which the Minister retorted as being 'ludicrous'. This explanation was also why the producer Graham Allen saw fit to investigate and highlight this case. This documentary is based on a small area within the UK, hardly known to anyone in the US. It does however hold vital clues as to the extent to which authorities will go to keep it that way. The event has never until now been given the spotlight and the evidence contained within it is enough to suggest in the words of Larry Warren (former USAF Airman) and interviewee, "that these darn things weren't made in Detroit". The documentary boasts stunning scenery of Cannock Chase, Interviews with who's who in ufology, state of the art graphic reconstructions and first hand account witness testimonies and hard fact. The documentary is dedicated to the memory of the late Graham Birdsall editor of UFO Magazine (UK) who died last year and is featured in his last ever interview in this documentary. |
